“I think I’ve gotta only do gay markets from now on…” - me to my mom at my last market.
Doing markets is hard! It takes a lot of physical effort to lug all your wares somewhere, a lot of mental energy to figure out how to organize it all, and a lot of vulnerability to stand there, smiling, hoping you’ll make up the booth fee.
Triple that last one if you’ve got debilitating social anxiety like me.
I spend the days before a market fretting about the interactions I’m going to have. Will people think my stuff is weird? What kind of comments about my work am I going to overhear? Will they think my outfit is too wrinkled, my belly too big, my hair too disheveled? Should I wear my wrist brace? My neck fan? Ugh why am I like this???
When I’m preparing for a gay market? None of that. I only feel excitement.
I can’t wait to meet everyone, to share my work, to see what everyone else is making. I know I’m not going to hear backhanded confusion about my thembo earrings, remarks about my pots’ bellies, or shock that someone would “advertise” their ADHD.
I’m with my people.
The Good Gays Art Market is this Saturday, 9/2!
I am so utterly excited for this Saturday’s market. You guessed it, it’s gonna be gay af.
You can see all the vendors on the Good Gays’ IG page, and here are some of my favorites!!!

Curly Ties, a fellow bolo binch!, Sweater Hex, Marmalade Clothing (who’s throwing a big gay party 8/31), Chained by Joy, Objects by B, and Happy Art Haus!

Your Wish is my Knish, Mimsy’s Munchies, Massage Enby (the greatest name ever), Luna Studio, Celestial Light Witch, and Cafe Dochi!
Whether you’re gay or not, it’s guaranteed to be a magnificent time. Get tickets here!!!
And if you can’t make it but you wanna buy gay shit from my site, I just added a search feature and a GAY category hehe.
I now have FIFTY SIX products in the shop, and I’m so proud of each and every one. No, I’m not making any profit, and yes, I am really happy with what I’m making 😉.
Is it just a matter of time? I hope so!
Gay Crafternoons?
If you’ve read this far, you’re probably a fan, and I need your input. Should I start a monthly Crafternoon?
You may or may not know that it’s my ultimate goal to open an art studio/community space/performance space/photo studio/ceramics studio within the next 5 years. I’m waiting for the bean to go to kindergarten before I can make this a reality.
I think a baby step towards this might be hosting crafternoons in my space, which also happens to be my garage haha.
Just for fun, this is what my garage looked like when we bought the house versus now!!!

What do you think? Would you attend? Would it be weird to have it in my garage? Would anyone really drive out to the valley for this? Reply here or message me on IG and lmk what you think of this idea :)
